I was so excited to purchase my first ever Dior bag in Milan. I wanted a classic bag with a modern twist, in a color I could wear ALL the time. Me being obsessed with mini bags, going with the Dior micro Lady D-Joy bag in black felt more me.
History Behind the Bag
The Lady D-Joy bag is a reimagined version of the Lady Dior bag by Dior’s current creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri. The Lady Dior bag, named after Princess Diana in 1995 has an iconic silhouette and has become a classic for Dior. Now, introduced in 2022, the Lady Dior’s little sister in a horizontal format, the Lady D-Joy bag.

Bag Design
The Lady D-Joy bag maintains the iconic design of the Lady Dior, but is now in a horizontal format. Featuring the same diamond cannage graphic motif and pale gold charms that spell out DIOR, the Lady D-Joy bag comes in different sizes, colors, and textures such as lambskin leather, denim, wicker, and raffia.
Versatility and Functionality
When I bought my Lady D-Joy bag I went for the micro size in black lambskin leather. I knew that a black bag was a color I could wear day to night and dress up or down. What I love about the bag is that it comes with two different straps. The top handle makes it easy to carry it by hand and the detachable and adjustable leather strap is perfect for on the go to wear over the shoulder or as a crossbody bag. It doesn’t stop there: it also comes with a removable chain strap that I love to use when I want to carry my bag on my arm, as my arm doesn’t fit through the top handles. As for the size, the micro is tiny. However, as someone that never puts my phone in my bags, it fits everything I need. Let’s talk about what fits inside.
What Fits in the Bag?
I mostly use my Lady D-Joy bag when going out to dinner or a night out. As I mentioned, I always like having my phone in my hand so it’s never in my bag. However if I really wanted to, my iPhone 15 Pro Max along with a small lipstick and my credit card and ID does fit. When going for a dinner, I usually fit my small Canon g7x camera, a small lipstick, my car key, and my credit card and ID. When running errands during the day, my Lady D-Joy bag fits sunglasses, my car key, a lipstick, a scrunchie, and my credit card and ID.

I believe the Lady D-Joy bag to be a worthy addition to your bag collection. With a timeless and classic design that tells a story it’s a piece that I will cherish forever.
