Nestled on a quiet residential street in West Hollywood lies Petit Ermitage, a true hidden gem in Los Angeles. Featuring 80 one-of-a-kind suites and original art pieces by Dalí, Miró, and Erté lining the halls, Petit Ermitage is anything but your typical boutique hotel. For those seeking a luxury boutique hotel experience in West Hollywood, this is the perfect destination.
Freshly baked cookies stored in a Jonathan Adler jar await guests in the lobby surrounded by the owner’s, Stefan Ashkenazy, collection of antiques and art.
Each unique room offers a gourmet mini bar, in-room Marshall speakers, and custom terry robes and slippers. (Don’t overlook the hand-woven carpets from Turkey and railings from India!!)
I made myself right at home in the Junior Suite, complete with a fireplace, private balcony, and sunken living area. Stepping out onto the balcony, facing Cynthia street, I learned that butterflies and hummingbirds call Petit Ermitage their home too.
The fourth floor hosts a private member’s European pool surrounded by lush greenery and striped cabanas. With views of the hills and outdoor fireplaces, the rooftop offers a great setting to watch the sunset, indulge in European inspired cuisine, and sip on cocktails made from locally farmed ingredients.
The fun doesn’t stop there. Weekly affairs including morning yoga, Monday movies, Friday cabaret shows and musical performances are sure to keep hotel guests entertained. How I spent my Saturday night? Listening to singer Parker Ainsworth play in the Wiggle Room, an intimate setting with silk walls and soft candlelit lighting.
Built in 1979, this luxury residence turned hotel speaks for itself. Every detail is worth capturing and every memory is worth making.
